Instructions for use

Tamarind paste is an essential ingredient in Asian and tropical cuisine. It brings a tangy, fruity flavor with a natural acidity that is much richer than vinegar or lemon.

Usage:

Stir-fry dishes:

Add 1–2 tablespoons directly into your wok to make authentic Pad Thai or tamarind shrimp.

Sour soups:

It is the base of Vietnamese Canh Chua or Thai Tom Yum soup. Add the paste gradually to the broth until you reach the desired level of acidity.

Dipping sauces:

Mix with fish sauce, palm sugar, and chili to create a dipping sauce for grilled meats.

💡 Chef’s tips:

Flavor balance:

Tamarind is very acidic. Always balance it with a touch of sweetness (palm sugar) and saltiness (fish sauce or soy sauce).

Refreshing drink:

Dilute a small amount in warm water with sugar and ice cubes to make a refreshing tamarind drink.

⚠️ Important notes:

Concentration:

This paste is ready to use. Unlike tamarind blocks, it does not need to be filtered. It is highly concentrated—start with a small amount.

Storage:

After opening, close tightly and store in the refrigerator to preserve its freshness and dark color.
