For the beef:

  • 400 g of beef fillet

  • 1 tbsp sunflower oil

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp chopped red onion

  • 1 tsp honey

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • Ground pepper

For green vegetables and fruits:

  • 1 onion (white or red)

  • 1 sour green mango

  • 1 grated carrot

  • 1 cucumber

  • 100g fresh pineapple, sliced

  • 1 red chili pepper (optional)

  • Fresh herbs: coriander, mint, Thai basil

Others :

  • 3 tbsp roasted peanuts (crushed)

  • 1 tbsp fried onions

  • Ice cubes + salt water for soaking

For the nuoc mam sauce (sweet fish sauce):

  • 2 tbsp nuoc mam (fish sauce)

  • 3 tbsp lime juice

  • 2 tbsp sugar

  • 1 tbsp water

  • Finely chopped garlic and chili pepper

How to prepare marinated beef salad

1. Marinate the beef:
Thinly slice the beef. Mix it with the oil, soy sauce, onion, honey, salt, and pepper. Let marinate for 20 to 30 minutes.

2. Prepare the vegetables and fruits:
Thinly slice the onion, cucumber, green mango, and pineapple, and grate the carrot. Soak the onion in lemon water to soften the flavor. Chop the herbs.

3. Cook the beef:
