- Chicken fillet: 500 g
- Fresh ginger: 1 small piece
- Shallots & garlic: 2 to 3 cloves each (finely chopped)
- Eggs: 2
- Onion: 1
- Peppers: 2
- Panko breadcrumbs: 100 g
- Hello Asia Tamarind Paste: 3 tbsp
- Sugar: 2 tbsp
- Nuoc mam (fish sauce): 2 tbsp
- Soy sauce: 2 tbsp
- Chili sauce (optional): 1 tbsp
- Salt, pepper
- Cooking oil
- Toasted white sesame seeds
How to Cook Sweet and Sour Chicken
1. Marinate the chicken
- Mix the chicken pieces with half of the garlic, shallots, 1 tsp of salt, soy sauce and a little pepper.
- Let marinate for 20 minutes.
- Cut the onion and peppers into cubes of about 3 × 3 cm.
2. Fry the chicken
- Beat the eggs. Dip the marinated chicken pieces in the eggs, then roll them in the panko breadcrumbs.
- Heat the oil over medium heat and fry until the chicken is golden brown and crispy.
- Drain on paper towels.
3. Prepare the tamarind sauce
- In a bowl, mix the tamarind paste, sugar, fish sauce, 3 tablespoons of water , and a little chili sauce (according to your taste).
