- 1 kg of rice
- 1 bowl of cooled cooked rice
- Mussels in Banh Căn

Instructions for making banh can
Step 1: Prepare the Bánh căn dough
- Soak rice and cooked rice in water overnight, then grind finely into a paste.
- Add water and peanut oil.
Step 2: Prepare the filling
- Wash the shrimp in cold water, drain,
- Remove the head and shell of the shrimp, cut the back to remove the black vein.
- Wash the squid, cut into suitable sized pieces.
- Finely chop the shallot and garlic.
- Season shrimp and squid with 1 teaspoon seasoning, 1 teaspoon sugar, 1 teaspoon fish sauce, ½ teaspoon pepper, 1 teaspoon shallot, 1 teaspoon garlic, mix well.
- Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Step 3: Cook the Bánh căn
- Oil the molds to prevent the Bánh căn from sticking.
- Place the molds on the charcoal fire, wait until they are hot, then pour the batter into the molds.
- Add eggs, squid and shrimp according to your preference.
- Cover and cook on the mussels for 2 minutes.

- Wash the chives and chop finely.
- Heat oil in a pan, add garlic.
- Add the chopped chives to the pan, mix well.
- Add grated mango with chive oil to enrich the taste of the sauce.
